Quader challenges Khaleda to prove conspiracy in NCC polls

Criticizing Khaleda’s statement regarding Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election, Roads and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, “Pleased prove the conspiracy in front of the people. If you cannot do that, please withdraw your statement.”

He also said, “Fakhrul and Rizvi have made many baseless comments. In the end, Khaleda Zia too gave a statement. She said there was conspiracy in the election. I’ll request her to prove it to people of the country.”

He said these at a meeting of Awami League (AL) in Priyanka Community Center on Thursday.

BNP leaders alleged that the NCC election was secretly rigged after AL backed candidate Selina Hayat Ivy defeated BNP candidate Shakhawat Hossain in the mayoral election.

Obaidul also criticized BNP leader Moudud for saying that the Zila Parishad Eelection was conflicting with the constitution, and said, “Law regarding Zila Parishad was passed in 2000. If it was conflicting with the constitution, then why did you not annul it? There is nothing contradictory here.”

Joint General Secretary of AL Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Dipu Mani, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, and others were present at the meeting.
